As many of you may know, I’ve typically been reluctant to do interviews regarding prepping. Primarily because I like to keep the particular details about exactly what we have stockpiled a private matter.
Another reason is that when I’m typing, I’m “safe” behind the comfort of my keyboard. On the other hand, in an interview, I can’t hit the backspace key if I happen to say the wrong thing.
Recently I’ve been “expanding my horizons” and back in January I agreed to be interviewed for the first ever online Preppers World Summit. That went quite well and it paved the way for me agreeing to be a guest on the Sean Green Show that airs on WGN Plus Radio.
I was asked to appear on the show for an approximate 10 to 15 minute interview and while I was still quite nervous, I’m really glad that I agreed to do it. Sean was actually on vacation when I was interviewed so I spoke with fill in host Mason Paine.
She is the host of the Mason Vera Paine Show on WGN Plus. She was a delight to speak with and did a great job helping me feel relaxed during the interview. Our 10 to 15 minute interview actually ended up running about 25 minutes where we talked about how a beginner might get started in prepping.
More importantly, I tried to emphasize that not all preppers are sitting around waiting for the world to end. Sure, most of us plan for the worst but we often end up relying upon our prepping skills and emergency supplies in many other situations.
WGN was kind enough to provide me with the audio recording of the interview which I have uploaded to my YouTube channel. I’ve included the two part video series below for those of you who would like to listen to it.
If you have any friends or family members who are thinking about getting started in prepping, I encourage you to tell them about this article so they can listen to my interview. You’d be doing them and me a big favor!
